Case summary
On February 29, 2012, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) to The Bonds Company located in Ouachita County, Arkansas. The AO was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA. The AO requires The Bonds Company to: (1) cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all brine and contaminated soils from the flow path located between the facility and the tributary of Cypress Creek; (3) remove brine from the tributary; and, (4) submit written certification. The Bonds Company must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of receiving the AO.
