Case summary
On June 2, 2011, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order under our authority pursuant to the Clean Water Act (CWA) to Fremont Exploration, Inc. located in Osage County, TX. The Administrative Order was issued in response to violations of Section 301 of the CWA, 33 U.S.C. § 1311. The Administrative Order requires Fremont Exploration, Inc. to (1) Cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; (2) remove all brine and contaminated soils from the flow path located between the ruptured injection line and Wildhorse Creek; and (3) remove all brine from Wildhorse Creek.
