Case summary

On August 9, 2011, EPA Region 6 issued a Proposed Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 1421 of the Safe Drinking Water Act to Performance Energy Resources, LLC, located in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. The AO was issued because the company is maintaining the fluid level in three injection wells near or above the fluid level of the USDW, which could allow contaminants to move through the wells into the USDWs drinking water. The AO requires Performance Energy Resources, LLC to complete corrective action on the wells to prevent fluids from moving through the wells into ground water resources. Performance Energy Resources, LLC must respond to EPA Region 6 within 30 days after the effective date of a Final Order. For more information, see documents below.
