On July 27, 2011, EPA Region 6 issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) under our authority pursuant to the Clean Water Act to Koricanek Poultry Laying Facility located in Gonzales, Texas. The CAFO was issued in response to violations of the facility permit, including (1) unauthorized discharges of pollutants to a water of the U.S., and (2) over application of manure and wastewater to fields with high concentrations of phosphorus without a TCEQ-approved nutrient utilization plan (NUP).
