Case summary

Violation: The Respondent's oil field facility was point source discharge of a pollutant to a Waters of the US . The Respondent's facility was inspected by the EPA on September 18, 2009, where a violation to the CWA was observed. It was observed that the Respondent's drilling pit had discharged drilling mud to a tributary of Okemah Lake. Relief: An Administrative Order was issued requiring the following: cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; remove all the drilling mud from the flow path located in between the facility and impacted water body; remove all the drilling mud from the impacted water body; and to submit written certification.
