Based on EPAs review of the January 9, 2008, CAFO annual compliance inspection, Jensen Brothers Feedlots violation of the Clean Water Act was identified. The violations include, but are not limited to the following: (1) failure to dispose of cattle carcasses within the permitted 3 days (72 hours) time period; (2) failure to maintain the animal waste retention structure (AWRS) in a manner to prevent the potential for discharge; (3) failure to capture and properly dispose of the runoff/leachate from the facilitys silage area; and (4) failure to keep proper records as required by the NPDES general permit.
