Case summary

Based on the review of the December 10, 2007, CAFO annual compliance inspection conducted by the EPA, violations were identified to the Clean Water Act’s NPDES Program. The violations included failure to have a graduated fluid level gauge in the animal waste retention structure (AWRS), failure to maintain the grass covering on the exterior slopes of the AWRS, failure to update the pollution prevention plan (PPP) records reflecting current ownership, representatives, and responsible personnel for maintenance and inspections, and failure to included proper documentation in the PPP of current AWRS 5-year liner recertification.
