Based on EPAs review of the April 25, 2007, CAFO annual compliance inspection for Alfalfa County Feeders, Inc., violations to the Clean Water Acts NPDES program were identified. The violations included the following: the animal waste retention structure (AWRS) did not contain the required level of freeboard; the AWRS needed to be dredged to obtain the required design capacity; records of wastewater application showed rates that exceeded crop uptake levels; and wastewater was applied to lands subject to excessive erosion.
