Case summary

Violation: Respondent's oil production well (facility) was a point source discharge of pollutants to waters of the US. The facility is located in the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 14 North, Range 12 East, Okmulgee Co., OK. The facility was inspected on October 10, 2007, and during the inspection the EPA inspector cited a violation to the Clean Water Act (the Act). The violation was the unauthorized discharge of produced water (brine) to a wetlands fo the Deep Fork River. Relief: An Administrative Order for Compliance is being issued Ordering the Respondent to: cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; remove all the brine from the impacted water body; neutralize or extract all the brine contaminated soil between the facility and the impacted water body; and to submit written certification that the previous mentioned activities have been completed.
