Violation: Respondent's facility was a point source discharge of pollutants to waters of the US . The facility is a natural gas production facility known as the Cottonwood Jowell Lease located in Ellis Co., TX. The facility was inspected on September 27, 2007. During the inspection the EPA inspector cited a violation to the Clean Water Act (the Act). The violation was the unauthorized discharge of produced water (brine) to a tributary of Cottonwood Creek. Relief: An Administrative Order for Compliance is being issued Ordering the Respondent to: cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility; remove all the brine from the impacted water body; and to submit written certification that the previous mentioned activities have been completed.
