Case summary
On December 21, 2007, Oxy Vinyls, LP, disclosed non-reporting violations of EPCRA 313 for ammonia, acetaldehyde, acetophenone, cumene, hydrochloric acid (aerosol form), and nitrate compounds for reporting years 2002 - 2005, as well as sodium nitrite for reporting year 2005. The violations occurred at their Pasadena, Texas facility. Oxy Vinyls corrected the violations and submitted Form R reports to EPA and the state of Texas. On May 13, 2008, EPA issued a Notice of Determination that waived the gravity-based penalties.
