Case summary

A cease and desist Order was issued to Mahard Egg Farms, Inc., Boogie Hill facility, owned and operated by Ernest Mahard, on September 4, 2007, for unauthorized discharges to waters of the United States. The discharges were from the egg laying facility. The Order requires the facility to do the following: a) Immediately cease and desist all discharges of pollutants from the facility lagoon; b) Immediately cease and desist all discharges of pollutants from the facility; c) Within fourteen (14) days, remove and properly dispose any solid waste from the southeast shore of Dilday Lake; d) Within forty-five (45) days, submit to EPA a certified summary of completed items and photographs to document completed work. The purpose of this Order is to protect human health and water quality.
