A cease and desist Order was issued to Cattleman's Choice Feedyard on July 10, 2007, for violations of the Clean Water Act. Cattleman's Choice Feedyard is located in Gage, Ok. The Order requires the feedyard to a)Immediately cease all discharges of pollutants from the facility lagoon; b)within one week, remove cattle from the pen that contains the perennial seep pond; c) within 30 days, remove all contained process wastewater from the bermed areas down-gradient from the lagoon and land apply at a proper crop nutrient uptake rate; d) within six months, remove sediment buildup in lagoon and restore it to proper operating specifications; e) within one year properly design and construct the eastern lagoon to capture runoff from east side of facility; and f) within six months, and at one year, submit to EPA a certified summary of completed items and photographs to document completed work.
