Morton Leases, Inc. CWA-06-2005-1911 OKU000507 VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's oil field facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically produced water, to the receiving waters of a tributary of Grave Creek, located in the Northwest Quarter of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 14 East, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. A February 3, 2005 EPA inspection documented the discharge of brine from the facility�s tank battery to the tributary. RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should immediately cease the discharge of pollutants from the facility and take preventative measures to cease all discharges from the facility. Additionally, the Order requires the Respondent to: (1) Remove and properly dispose of fluids; (2) Repair or replace the leaking brine pump; (3) reconstruct the secondary containment; (4) install an automatically activated sump pump; and (5) neutralize brine impacted areas surrounding and down gradient of the facility.
