Tony Oil Company VIOLATIONS: The Respondent' tank battery facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically brine, to the receiving waters of a tributary of Butler Creek, located in the Northeast Quarter of Section 16, Township 27 North, Range 11 East, Osage County, Oklahoma. The discharge of brine was documented during a February 13, 2004 inspection. RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should also take steps to cease all discharges of pollutants and to neutralize the brine contaminated area surrounding and north of the tank battery by applying soil amendments to neutralize the sodium chloride. Additionally, the Order asks the Respondent to consider: (1) reconstruct the secondary containment; (2) remove fluids inside the facility on a regular basis; and (3) install an automatically activated sump pump.
