Case summary
VIOLATIONS: Maintained four injection wells with a static fluid level above the base of underground sources of drinking water (USDWs), which presents an unreasonable risk that contaminants could move through the well bore into USDWs. Failed to plug two injection wells within one year after termination of injection operations. RELIEF: Plug injection two wells according to Federal regulations by July 1, 2004. Either convert two wells to production use or plug them according to Federal regulations by July 1, 2004. Either convert one well to production, plug it, or demonstrate that it has mechanical integrity by July 1, 2004. PENALTY: None
