Case summary
Respondent operates oil and gas exploration and production facilities in the western portion of the Gulf of Mexico. A 5 year file review was performed of their Clean Water Act (CWA) National Pollutant Discharge Eliminiation System (NPDES) permit (GMG290043). Resopndent was found to have lost permit coverage for some facilities, had effluent violations of some of it's discharges, and failed to properly report information on Discharge Monitoring Reports. The effluent and unauthorized discharges are estimated to have resulted in 240 lbs of oil illegally discharged.
