Case summary

The Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) for Federal Cartridge Company, Anoka, Minnesota to resolve violations regarding the Minnesota Ambient Air Quality Standard (MAAQS) for lead alleged in an NOV issued on August 25, 2023 (2023 NOV), and to address violations of the Federally Enforceable State Operating Permit (FESOP) for failing to operate and maintain air pollution control equipment such that it achieves the required overall control efficiency for lead and PM in an NOV issued on February 1, 2024 (2024 NOV). This CAFO requires Federal Cartridge Company to pay a penalty of $349,471 and resolves the 2023 NOV and 2024 NOV.
