Case summary

On 12/20/2021 Region 5 executed a Consent Agreement and Final Order against CertaPro Painters of Westlake. In it Region 5 alleges that CertaPro Painters of Westlake failed to properly obtain written acknowledgment from the owner of the dwellings that they had received the EPA pamphlet entitled Renovate Right: Important Lead Hazard Information for Families, Child Care Providers and Schools and to obtain either (i) a written acknowledgement of receipt from the owner of the dwelling unit or (ii) a certification of mailing at least 7 days prior to the renovation 40 C.F.R. $ 745.84(a)(1); and failed to to retain and make available to EPA all records necessary to demonstrate compliance with 40 C.F.R. Part745, Subpart E for a period of three (3) years following the renovations.
