Case summary
Powerlab manufactures lead oxide used in lead-acid battery manufacturing. The facility in Savanna, Illinois is subject to NESHAP VVVVVV as an existing affected source, with a compliance date of March 21, 2013. Powerlab had never demonstrated compliance with applicable requirements of NESHAP VVVVVV. AECAB, in conjunction with ORC, has determined that a penalty is not appropriate for this case. This ACO requires Powerlab to submit a Notice of Compliance Status report to Illinois EPA and submit NESHAP VVVVVV required monitoring records to EPA for a period of two years, and addresses the violations set forth in the FOV issued to Powerlab on March 20, 2019.
