Case summary

Metal scraping operations at the prison inadvertently involved collection of PCB oil from a piece of equipment being scrapped. The oil was mixed in with non-PCB oil and transferred to other drums. The drums were then pumped into a collection truck for recycling where PCBs were finally discovered. The discovery prevented PCBs from entering the oil recycling process. In the end, all PCBs were properly disposed of and contaminated equipment/areas were cleaned.
