Case summary
Sustane Organic Fertilizer owns and operates a turkey litter fertilizer manufacturing operations that generates particulate matter (PM), PM less than 10 microns, and PM less than 2.5 microns. The uncontrolled potential to emit for PM, PM10 and PM2.5 exceed levels requiring a permit under the Minnesota SIP. This ACO requires Sustane to continuously operate and maintain all particulate matter control equipment according to an operations and maintenance manual, conduct daily inspections of the control equipment and take necessary corrective actions to return control equipment back to normal operation if issues are discovered during the daily inspections, enclose and control emissions from all material transfer points, and addresses the violations set forth in the Notice of Violation issued to Sustane on December 28, 2016.
