Case summary

On February 16, 2016, U.S. EPA Region 5 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement and Final Order (ESA) that commences and concludes an action against Aleris Rolled Products of Uhrichsville, Ohio for alleged violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The ESA alleges that Aleris Rolled Products 1) stored hazardous waste on site for longer than its 90-day limit, 2) failed to maintain current emergency coordinator contact information within in its hazardous waste contingency plan, and 3) failed to properly label containers of used oil. Aleris Rolled Products has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $3,000 to resolve this matter. The ESA does not include injunctive relief because of Aleris Rolled Products? complying actions since the inspection and its response to the previous Notice of Violation.
