Case summary

On January 24, 2013, Rolls-Royce Corporation and EPA signed an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) for conducting corrective action work at the Rolls Royce Indianapolis facility in IN; the order replaces a previous voluntary corrective action agreement entered into with the General Motors Corporation (GM). The AOC requires the Rolls-Royce Corporation to continue implementation of corrective action at the former GM site, which they have been doing on a voluntary basis since the GM bankruptcy in 2009. The primary corrective action issue at the facility is tetrachloroethene contaminated ground water from past degreasing operations. The facility is expected to submit a Corrective Measures Proposal during the second quarter of FY13.
