EPA v. Hanson Cold Storage (St. Joseph) CAFO

Final Order With Penalty

Case summary

Hanson's Benton Harbor, Hobart and Hart facilities were inspected in April and May of 2010 for compliance with EPCRA 311/312. All three facilities had filed Tier II forms for ammonia for calendar years 2008 and 2009 but had failed to file Tier II forms for the lead and sulfuric acid in their batteries for these same years. Hanson subsequently submitted corrected Tier II forms for all three facilities.
