Case summary
This Settlement Agreement provides for the performance of removal actions by Respondent and the payment of certain response costs incurred by the United States at or in connection with the Richland Moulded Brick Site (Site) located at 1000 Richland Shale Road in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio. The Site produced moulded bricks and consisted of two facilities - Plant #1 located at 800 Richland Shale Road, Mansfield, Ohio and Plant #2 located at 1000 Richland Shale Road, Mansfield, Ohio. Plant #1 ceased operations in the 1970s and several buildings were demolished. Four buildings in various states of disrepair remain at Plant #1. In December 2006, Plant #2 ceased operations and raw materials and wastes were left in and around on-site buildings.
