Case summary

This Administrative Order on Consent ( Order ), entered into voluntarily by the United States Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation ( WPSC or Respondent ), provides that Respondent shall undertake a Remedial Design ( RD ), including various procedures and technical analyses, to produce a detailed set of plans and specifications for implementation of the Remedial Action selected in EPA's September 28, 2012, Record of Decision for the WPSC Stevens Point MGP Site ( Site ). The Site is located in the city of Stevens Point, Portage County, Wisconsin, encompassing approximately three acres. The Site includes the location of the former WPSC manufactured gas plant (MGP) facility, which is now a one and one-half acre grass covered lot. In addition, Respondent shall reimburse the United States for certain response costs that it incurs, as provided herein.
