Case summary
EPA entered into a Consent Agreement and Final Order with International Automotive Components Group North America, LLC (IAC or facility) in Port Huron, Michigan to resolve violations regarding the Michigan State Implementation Plan (SIP). The alleged violations were identified by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ); however due to limited resources and MDEQ, EPA was given leadership of the case. IAC violated R 336.1201 of the Michigan SIP from April 9, 2007 to March 3, 2011 which requires facilities in the state obtain a permit to install (PTI) before operation. IAC did not have a PTI nor did the facility has an application for a PTI. On March 3, 2011, IAC was issued finalized Permit to Install #183-10 by MDEQ.
