Case summary

On September 23, 2011, EPA issued a Notice and Findings of Violation to Harsco for violating its FESOP and the IN SIP. Specifically, Harsco failed to prevent visible particulate matter emissions from leaving its building enclosing material processing equipment, failed to have its baghouse control the particulate matter emissions from the dry slag processing operation, and failed to restore operations of its emission units to its normal or usual manner of operation as expeditiously as practice in accordance with good air pollution control practices for minimizing emissions.
