Case summary
Mapei Corporation failed to timely submit Toxic Release Inventory Reports (TRI) to EPA and the State of Illinois for butyl acrylate, styrene, ethylene glycol, acrylic acid, ethyl acrylate, methanol, vinyl acetate, and acrylamide, 1-(3-cloroallyl)-3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniaadantane chloride processed at their West Chicago, Illinois facility in calendar year 2005. In addition, subsequent to EPAs September 10, 2008 inspection, Mapei disclosed to EPA that it had also failed to timely submit reports for calendar year 2006 for 1-(3-cloroallyl)-3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniaadantane, chloride and 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene and in calendar year 2007 for 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 1-(3-cloroallyl) -3,5,7-triaza-1-azoniaadantane, chloride, 1,2, 4-trimethylbenzene and methanol.
