Case summary

On September 30, 2010, issued a Complaint and Compliance Order against Reliable Galvanizing Company (Reliable Galvanizing). Based on findings from a March 10, 2009 Multi Media Inspection, and based on information provided by Reliable Galvanizing in response to EPA’s June 12, 2009 and December 4, 2009 requests for information, Reliable Galvanizing was in noncompliance with conditions for a hazardous waste storage permit exemption and in violation of the following by: 1) failing to make a waste determination; 2) failing to submit an Exception Report to the EPA Regional Administrator for not receiving copies of manifests from the designated facility that accepted the waste; 3) not maintaining a copy of the land disposal restriction notification for the hazardous waste that is the subject of such documentation; 4) failing to have an adequate training program; 5) failing to maintain a contingency plan at the facility; and 6) failing to make appropriate emergency arrangements.
