Case summary

On December 27, 2005, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued a Finding of Violation to Sunoco, Inc. for violating the HON NESHAP regulations. EPA found that Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) failed to comply with the open ended line and repair requirements. Additionally, Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) failed to identify all the connectors in its LDAR program, equip its compressor with a barrier fluid, and correctly report its LDAR results. As part of the settlement documented in the CAFO, Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $400,000.
