EPA v. ALL CITY RECYCLING, INCORPORATED (SB)

Final Order No Penalty

Case summary

All City Recycling is a medium-sized scrapyard in Cleveland, Ohio. They accept at least one appliance a day, five and a half days a week. They used municipal stickers as verification that the appliances they accepted did not contain CFCs. They did not collect verification statements or own recovery equipment. Since our involvement, All City has purchased and is using recovery equipment. It has also put up a sign stating that All City will not accept appliances without the refrigerant lines intact, and All City will remove the freon free of charge to its customers.
