Case summary
Timm's Auto Salvage was in violation of Section 608 of the Clean Air Act for failure to obtain verification statements or contracts for the scrap appliances and autos it was taking in to the scrapyard. Timm's recovered refrigerant from autos, but not small appliances. It has now adopted a verification statement program and a contract system with its suppliers. It has also begun keeping a refrigerant recovery log for its recovered refrigerant and has trained its employees in using the equipment.
