Case summary

On November 6, 2002, Countrymark Cooperative, LLP (Countrymark) submitted a self-disclosure notice for their facility in Mount Vernon, Indiana. During an internal audit, Countrymark discovered a possible violation of EPA's RVP rules set out at 40 CFR Part 80.27-28 on September 14 and 15, 2001. Following the national disaster on September 11, 2001, all terminals experienced a run on gasoline, more than doubling the expected demand. During the days in question, Countrymark distributed intermediate gasoline to their customers. On August 21, 2008, EPA responded to the self-disclosure by stating that EPA does not intend to pursue additional actions to resolve the self-disclosed violations at this time.
