U.S. EPA FILES AN ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLAINT AND COMPLIANCE ORDER AGAINST TRILLA STEEL DRUM CORPORATION, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS On September 29, 2006, the United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 (USEPA) filed an Administrative Complaint and Compliance Order (Complaint) against Trilla Steel Drum Corporation (Trilla) for violations of the State of Illinois hazardous waste regulations at its installation located in Chicago, Illinois. USEPA observed violations during a compliance evaluation and investigation at Trilla in December 2005. The Complaint, which was filed under the authority of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, cites violations in areas including treating waste without a permit, personnel training and recordkeeping, contingency plan, and the generator conditions for a hazardous waste storage permit exemption.
