EPA v. FORT JAMES OPERATING COMPANY

Final Order With Penalty

Case summary

Fort James will comply with the Stratospheric Ozone Standards. Fort James has failed to repair leaks, verify the success of repairs, and keep records of service and because of this has caused the excessive release of ozone depleting compounds (CFC's) to the environment. This CAFO requires Fort James to comply with the Standards and thereby prevent future excess emissions. Furthermore, Fort James has improved its recordkeeping and worked with its contractors to improve the handling of CFC at the facility. These actions should help prevent future emissions and violations.
