Case summary

The Consent Decree with sulfuric acid producer Rhodia Inc. finalizes a global settlement involving eight sulfuric acid plants at six locations in Indiana, Louisiana, Texas, and California. The Consent Decree resolves violations of EPA?s New Source Review (NSR) and New Source Performance Standard (NSPS) regulations, as well as Title V permitting requirements. Rhodia will reduce emissions nationally of SO2 by over 19,000 tons per year by accepting SO2 emission limitations reflective of state-of-the-art pollution control equipment.
