EPA v. VALSPAR CORPORATION
Final Order With Penalty
Case summary
Valspar had failed to label several satellite accumulation containers with the words, Hazardous Waste . Valspar failed to prepare and maintain a record of the determination of the maximum organic vapor pressure of the hazardous waste stored in two 4892-gallon hazardous waste storage tanks. However, even though prior to inspection the facility failed to maintain a record documenting the maximum organic vapor pressure of the hazardous waste in the two containers, the facility has now instituted better recording keeping practices that has allowed them the ability to keep proper and necessary documentation on file.
