Case summary
Aztec failed to make waste determinations on two drums of waste and waste beneath two process tanks. Upon receipt of the NOV, Aztec completed analysis on the two containers stored unlabeled and unmonitored in an outdoor area and found that the waste was hazardous. Aztec indicated that the waste had been illegally dumped. Aztec installed new security equipment and is following new procedures to ensure no further illegal dumping occurs.
