Case summary
Administrative complaint issued to company for failure to maintain appropriate records. The facility at which the violations occurred shut down after the U.S. EPA inspection. However, the corporation is still in existence and is receiving a complaint for failure to make hazardous waste determinations, failure to prepare hazardous waste manifests, failure to keep hazardous waste determination records, and failure to conduct weekly container safety inspections. In addition, the lead pollutant reduced in the mineral spirits waste stream that was misidentified as non-hazardous waste and shipped off-site is no longer being generated. Cinch generated approx. 3,545 gallons/year. The amount of lead was analyzed at 14 mg/L. The total lead amount was then determined to be 200 grams of reduction/elimination per year.
