AUGUST 19, 2024 - CONSENT DECREE FOR REMEDIAL DESIGN/REMEDIAL ACTION AT THE GENERAL DYNAMICS LONGWOOD SUPERFUND SITE JULY 3, 2023 - Pre-Referral for Remedial Design/Remedial Action Negotiations, General Dynamics Longwood Superfund Site, Longwood, Seminole County, Florida From approximately 1959 to 1988, various companies (General Dynamics Corporation, General Dynamics Land Systems, Lexar Corporation and United Technologies Communications Company) manufactured circuit boards, telecommunications equipment, and other electronics at the Site. The processes utilized solvents or vapor degreaser in which impacted groundwater at the Site. Special Notice Letters will be sent to four PRPs at the Site for negotiation of a Consent Decree (CD) for Remedial Design/Remedial Action (RD/RA) at the Site. The RA to be implemented at the GDL Site is embodied in a final Record of Decision (ROD) executed on September 23, 2022. The key components of the remedy in the ROD include in-situ treatment via injection of reagents into the aquifer, groundwater monitoring, and institutional controls.
