1-31-2013 - NOTICE OF DETERMINATION ISSUED. IN A SEPT 26, 2008, REPORT, WAKE FOREST NOTIFIED THE EPA OF VIOLATIONS OF THE CAA, EPCRA, CWA, OPA AND RCRA. ALL OF THE VIOLATIONS, EXCEPT THE OPA VIOLATIONS, WERE CORRECTED BY SEPT 26, 2008, THE DATE OF THE SUBMISSION OF THE REPORT. EPA GRANTED WAKE FOREST A SERIES OF 30-DAY EXTENSIONS TO CORRECTT THE OPA VIOLATIONS AND THEY WERE CORRECTED BY MARCH 20, 2009, WITH THE TIME PROVIDED BY THE EXTENSIONS. NONE OF THE VIOLATIONS DISCOVERED ARE REPEAT VIOLATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, NONE OF THE VIOLATIONS RESULTED IN SERIOUS HARM NOR DID THEY PRESENT AN IMMINENT AND SUBSTANTIAL ENDANGERMENT. FINALLY, WAKE FOREST HAS TAKEN STEPS TO PREVENT THE RECURRENCE OF THE VIOLATIONS AND HAS COOPERATED FULLY WITH THE EPA.
