ON 8/29/00, EPA INVESTIGATED THE DISCHARGE AREA AND DETERMINED THAT APPROX. 20 LINEAR FEET OF THE UNNAMED TRIBUTARY OF DOG RIVER HAD BEEN FILLED BY TWO EARTHEN DAMS AND AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF SEDIMENT WHICH HAD BEEN DISCHARGED INTO THE TRIBUTARY AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE TO INSTALL SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ON THE SITE. APPROX. 1000-1500 FEET OF STREAM HAVE BEEN IMPOUNDED BY THE DAM AND UNDETERMINED LENGTH OF STREAM BELOW THE DAM HAS BEEN DEHYDRATED. .
