In addition to federally authorized regulations applicable to Chemours hazardous waste management, at the time of the Inspection, Chemours was also subject to a RCRA Treatment, Storage and Disposal (TSD) Permit, which was issued by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection ( WVDEP ) ( the RCRA Permit ). Per the terms of the Consent Agreement, Chemours is required to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $9,508.00 to address numerous violations of applicable regulatory and permit requirements, relating to Chemours failure to: (1) keep a container of universal waste closed; (2) mark a container of universal waste with the words universal waste ; (3) properly store two 55-gal drums of hazardous waste in noncompliance with the RCRA Permit; (4) failure to maintain records of inspections as required by the RCRA Permit; (5) failure to document completion of annual refresher hazardous waste training as required by the RCRA Permit. Region 3 have notified WVDEP representatives of this action and has received no objection from such representatives. This action furthers Administrator Zeldin's Pillar 1: Clean Air, Land, and Water for every American by protecting human health and the environment.
