Violations such as these can potentially lead to hazardous waste entering the environment which can be harmful to both human health and the environment. Taking actions against such violations aligns with Pillar 1 of the Powering the Great American Comeback initiative for clean air, water and land for all. The settlement requires Precoat Elk Ridge Holdings Corp. to certify that it is now in compliance with applicable hazardous waste requirements and to pay a $13,440.00 penalty. The EPA notified the Maryland Department of Environment in advance of this action, and the Department had no objections.
