Case summary
On April 12, 2024, Region 3 entered a Compliance Agreement and Final Order ( Order ) with Petroleum Recovery and Remediation Management, Inc. d/b/a Petroleum Management, Inc. that simultaneously initiated and resolved violations of the CAA, RCRA and the CWA at its Baltimore, MD facility. These included violations related to processing, recycling and disposal of waste oil material including operation of bulk storage tanks, with concomitant risks of emissions of hazardous air pollutants, among other risks to human health and the environment. The Order will result in PMI paying a total civil penalty of $230,000. EPA separately entered into an Administrative Compliance Order on Consent earlier this year that required the facility to come into compliance with the CAA. The facility is in an area of potential EJ concern.
