On January 23, 2024, Region 3 entered an Administrative Compliance Order on Consent ( Order ) with Petroleum Recovery and Remediation Management, Inc. d/b/a Petroleum Management, Inc. related to eight categories of CAA violations at its Baltimore, MD facility. These included violations related to processing, recycling and disposal of waste oil material including operation of bulk storage tanks. The Order will require PMI to, among other things, conduct monthly sampling of its storage tanks and install a photo ionization detector to monitor air emissions. EPA will separately settle penalty claims, related to the same underlying facts supporting the CAA violations resolved here, under the CAA, RCRA and the CWA. The facility is in an area of potential EJ concern.
