Case summary
On September 21, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by Liberty Medical of Sterling, VA imported through the Port of Baltimore. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute an unregistered pesticide. The importer must export the pesticide out of the country or destroy it according to state and local regulations, and must provide documentation to Region 3. The Maryland Department of Agriculture and Virginia Department of Agricultureand Consumer Services were copied on the NORA, and FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
