On July 26, 2023, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of a misbranded pesticide by Qiagen Sciences LLLS through the Port of Washington DC-Dulles (#5401). It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute misbranded pesticides and pesticide devices; the item in question is a pesticide device that failed to list the correct EPA Establishment Registration Number. The importer has the option to export or destroy the violative product and must provide to EPA documentation of the action. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services was copied on the NORA. FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
